Tournament Highlights: PLDT at Creamline sa PVL On Tour

Timeline at Format

PVL On Tour 2025 runs from June 22 to August 16, and it has been bringing the volleyball fever to six cities: Vigan, Batangas, Montalban, Ilagan, Passi, and Cebu. The format is round-robin per pool, with 12 teams split into Pool A at Pool B. The top two teams mula sa bawat pool will immediately move forward to the quarterfinals, habang ang iba ay may chance pa in the playoff rounds.

PLDT High Speed Hitters

PLDT has been the most consistent and composed team so far. Undefeated sila sa Pool A, and they finished their Cebu leg with a 5‑0 record and a total of 15 points, kaya sila ang unang nakakuha ng spot sa quarterfinals.

One of their most talked-about wins was against Galeries Tower in Cebu on July 27, kung saan kumuha sila ng a clean sweep (25‑17, 25‑21, 25‑15). Si Dell Palomata stood tall with her net presence, while Jovy Prado and Fiola Ceballos led the attack with powerful spikes and smart placements. Kianna Dy’s veteran leadership was also on full display, orchestrating plays and showing excellent court awareness.

Isa pang standout match was against Farm Fresh Foxies, where PLDT overcame a slow start to win in four sets. Nagpakita dito ng versatility ang team, proving they can adjust and recover mid-game.

Creamline Cool Smashers

Hindi man undefeated ang Creamline, but they’ve been one of the most exciting teams to watch. In the Vigan leg, they opened strong with back-to-back wins, showing their signature chemistry. However, unexpectedly na natalo sila to PLDT in Pool A crossover action!

But Creamline bounced back big time in Passi City, dealing Chery Tiggo Crossovers their first loss of the tour with a convincing 3‑1 victory (25‑21, 19‑25, 25‑16, 25‑18). Madaming highlight moments:

  • May 19 points si Alyssa Valdez, combined with 15 excellent receptions and 11 digs, which just proves she’s still one of the queens of Philippine volleyball.
  • Michele Gumabao added 17 points, and was strong on defense at the net and from all angles.
  • Pangs Panaga made headlines with 7 monster blocks, a tournament-high!

This win didn’t just boost their standings, but it also restored the team’s confidence and re-established their reputation as finals contenders.

Another exciting match was against NXLED Chameleons, where Creamline showed off its depth. Even without top-tier offense early on, they adjusted quickly and executed better in the second and third sets to seal the sweep.

Why Should You Support the PVL On Tour?

1. Grassroots Connection & Fan Engagement

The tour brings the game closer to fans from every region, especially Visayas and Mindanao. Kapag nakita mo ang PLDT o Creamline play sa Cebu or Cagayan de Oro, the energy is ona  different level! More local fans are able to attend and connect with teams directly. It’s a solid platform for growing the sport and boosting community support outside Metro Manila.

2. New Talent Exposure & Roster Experimentation

Many teams are testing new lineups and draft picks. Almost every team is rolling out rookies and supporting players, and this is where they gel under pressure. PVL On Tour gives coaches real-game data, not just training drills. For instance, PLDT’s rise is fueled by strong performances from Kianna Dy and Jovy Prado, while Creamline’s synergy under Coach Sherwin Meneses is evident with core stars performing consistently.

3. High‑Stakes Preseason Pressure

Although technically an off-season tournament, competition runs deep. Wins and losses can affect playoff berths or seedings sa upcoming PVL Invitational or All‑Filipino Conferences. For example, Chery Tiggo’s losing skid to Creamline complicates their path to the quarterfinals, which in turn affects motivation and standings sa group. That’s why pressure moments are real, lalo na when a team is stuck in tight standings in Pool B where one loss can mean a play-in round instead of direct advancement.

4. Sports Betting Insights & Fan Engagement

Para sa mga interested sa sports betting online, sports betting Philippines, or monitoring via the BK8 sports website, this tour provides early clues on team form, player stats, and head‑to‑head results. The early data (i.e. PLDT’s sweep, Creamline’s bounce-back wins) helps bettors evaluate odds for upcoming conferences. Also, online sports betting platforms like BK8 sports may feature odds based on PVL On Tour outcomes, attracting fans who follow both performance and prediction angles.

5. Building Momentum Before Major Conferences

PVL On Tour is a stepping stone towards the PVL Invitational Conference (in August) and eventual full All‑Filipino Conference. Teams that build momentum here — like PLDT finishing their pool play unbeaten or Creamline recovering from early losses — will carry that confidence forward. This tour gives hints kung dominante ba talaga sila or may weaknesses pa.
